I wrote the piece around the simple but universally synonymous idea of the two note “ding dong” sound we associate with when we think of an announcement or a doorbell. Naturally, bells became the main focus of the piece. I also liked the kind of cool train stations you’d see in Japanese Neo-Futuristic media like in Cubix (2001). I’ve always wanted to do a piece like this because I used to hear this type of music all the time in early 2000s games written by Japanese game composers.
